Utilities Chemicals
Survey


Many utilities are faced with significant increases in chemical costs. Through this survey, we would like to determine if there are some opportunities to enhance existing contracts, share ideas, or group contracting together in order to optimize chemical purchasing. There may be other ideas we haven't thought of that will occur to us once we compile information from utilities around the state.

1.      Please provide the name of chemicals utilized in significant quantities in routine operations by your utility.  Please provide annual quantities purchased for each chemical.

2.      Please provide the last three (3) years of estimated monthly usage for each chemical.

3.      Please provide the last three (3) years of pricing history.

4.      Please provide the manufacturing location, (city and state) for each chemical utilized by your utility.

5.      Please provide vendor information for each chemical utilized by your utility.

6.      Please provide if applicable the source(s) utilized for tracking the latest trends, developments and pricing market index for the chemicals utilized for your utility.

7.   What has your utility done to attempt to stabilize chemical costs for the next 2 to 3 years?
